Christy Wampole’s article in the November 17th New York Times Blog “How to Live Without Irony” says that “irony is the primary mode with which daily life is dealt” for many American children of the 80’s and 90’s, particularly for middle-class Caucasians. This presumption arrogantly and small-mindedly assumes the life built on irony to be an American phenomenon.
